I'm cheating on my blog post today because I have spent all weekend (so far) working on my site.
A short back story:
Before my trip to Central America, I contacted a website developer (through Wix) because I haven't been able to figure out a few design things on my site. For example, I can't figure out how to change the size of captions for images, and I'm struggling to do what I want to with my blog. In addition, people are having trouble leaving comments on my posts, which is frustrating for everyone involved!
All of that to say, I ended up working with a nice guy named Brian from Dallas Texas Web Design. He helped me fix a few of my issues, but we're still waiting on responses from Wix for the rest. In addition, Brian helped me connect my old WordPress blog, Shift, to this one. This means that I can now publish my old posts here, and anyone who goes to my old site will be redirected to this one. (This is both good and bad in that I now have more than 300 previous posts in draft form to go through here. I may not publish them all, but there are at least a few worth sharing!)

Brian also gave me feedback on my site design. In all, he said it looked great, but he encouraged me to do more with my home page. (When I created my site, I had no idea what to put on the home page.) At some point in the near future, I hope to start getting jobs through this site, so I decided to take his advice—as frustrating as it might be, lol. Working with Wix is hard! It's a lot of trial and error, and everything from background color to spacing to font size, etc., has to be adjusted a thousand times in both the desktop and mobile form to get it right.
For a perfectionist like me, it's exhausting.
So... no new writing- or travel-related post tonight, but if you could do me a favor and look around and let me know what you think, I'd greatly appreciate it! And if you see anything that doesn't look right or notice a link that isn't working (in either the desktop or mobile form), please let me know. Your feedback will be very helpful!
